With a welcome aperitif, we will introduce you to the fascinating history and organisation of the ancient Principality of Poljica and to Croatia’s unique customary legal document – the Poljica Statute.

Following this, there will be a guided tour of the Traditional Museum of Gornja Poljica, where you will learn about the traditional lifestyle of the people of Gornja Poljica.

ENJOY THE MYSTICAL LANDSCAPE AND FLAVOURS OF GORNJA POLJICA
The museum houses several valuable historical documents and around two hundred original artefacts of daily life, displayed in 300-year-old kitchens and stables. Experience the authentic male and female attire of Gornja Poljica (traditional costumes), the ancient sounds of numerous traditional Croatian musical instruments, the pastoral male and female singing (ojkavica, rera), and the dance of Gornja Poljica, the Poljičko kolo.

Taste the native specialty of Poljica, the Poljički soparnik, which is included on UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage List, along with local Dalmatian wine, prosciutto, and cheese. Experience the re-enactment of the St. John’s bonfire of Gornja Poljica, and the customs and beliefs of Cvitnjak.

Enjoy the legends and traditions of Gornja Poljica, delving into the mythical and supernatural world in the mystical setting of the ritual fire on the old stone barn. Visit the ethnic village of Dolovi and travel back in time with us!
