A Journey Between Storytelling and Education in Collodi and Florence
On February 13th and 14th, 2025, the European Fairy Tale Route Association hosted members of the GREEN TALES project in Florence and Collodi to define the next steps of their collaborative work, strengthen educational strategies, and expand the network among participants.
Where Magic Begins: Collodi between Fairy Tales and Project Planning
At the Carlo Collodi National Foundation, partners worked on several key aspects of the project:
- Updates on the storytelling, visual arts, and music projects developed by the four participating schools and proposed by partners: Fundación Yehudi Menuhin España, MUS-E Deutschland, Panodyssey, World Human Forum, Çukurova University, and University of Akureyri.
- Video calls with experts to refine creative approaches.
- Planning for upcoming training sessions in Germany, Iceland, and Turkey.
- A review of communication strategies to ensure more effective dissemination of the project.
The day concluded with a visit to Pinocchio Park and Villa Garzoni Garden, offering participants a chance to immerse themselves in Collodi’s storytelling tradition and unique atmosphere.
Innovation and Education: Florence at the heart of education
At the Ospedale degli Innocenti in Florence, the focus shifted to the educational impact of the GREEN TALES project. Key highlights included:
- Optimizing teaching strategies with contributions from University of Akureyri (Iceland) and Çukurova University (Turkey) to integrate the project into educational programs.
- An in-depth analysis to ensure the quality and effectiveness of the project’s outcomes.
The event marked a crucial step in reinforcing the importance of storytelling as an educational tool and enhancing collaboration among the project’s partners.
